Albiol: "We’re going to play good football"

Raul Albiol held a press conference after the training session and analysed the team's performance so far.

You’ve played in the centre defence alongside Garay, Metzelder and Pepe. Who is your favourite partner?
I’ve felt very comfortable with all three of them. It’s easy to play in such a defensive line.

Real Madrid’s problem is set-pieces...
The coach knows how to solve those issues. I’d rather have these problems now than later on. We’ll improve greatly in that area and there’s no need to become obsessed with it.

The team has showcased good offensive power.
Yes, we have a great goal-scoring potential. However, we didn’t play well against Xerez and we didn’t have as many chances as we normally do. We scored early on and maybe we slowed the pace because of that. Games aren’t easy to win. It’s also important to know how to suffer.

Why was it so difficult to create plays in the first half?
We started well and it seemed like everything would be perfect. They started to feel comfortable and things got worse for us. We suffered more than we expected. We need to win more possession of the ball when playing home. The most important thing was the victory. We should focus on the positive aspects because we’re still in September. We must be patient.
