The captain is five matches behind Sanchis in the ranking of most games played for Real Madrid
Raul keeps breaking records. He is about to surpass Manolo Sanchis’s feat of league games and total matches played for Real Madrid. Sanchis played 523 league clashes –two more than Raul– and 703 official matches –five ahead of the captain–. Raul will break both records in a matter of weeks.
Sanchis played for Real Madrid between 1983 and 2001. He broke Santillana’s previous record for most league games played for Real Madrid and is also the record holder for most official matches played for the Whites. A Realmadrid.com study shows that Raul is likely to break the first one at the Madrigal against Villareal and the second one against Olympique Marseille at the Bernabeu.
Raul is also about to surpass Cesar and Di Stefano in La Liga’s all-time top-scoring ranking.
