Manuel Pellegrini, Real Madrid (Peace Cup)

After seeing his side beat espanyol 3-0, manuel pellegrini expressed his satisfaction at the performance.

Los Merengues spoiled the Periquitos' party at their new stadium, with Esteban Granero, Guti and Cristiano Ronaldo getting the goals. Speaking to Marca after the match, Pellegrini said, "The first half was very even."

"We managed a goal, and had another chance that was well saved by Kameni. In the second half, we got two more goals.

"I believe that we were worthy winners. I don't think the margin was excessive.

"The state of the pitch worked against us.

"Espanyol put a lot of pressure on us to try and win."

Pellegrini then went on to stress the value of his squad's depth, continuing, "The players who did not have international duty knew they would be playing today."

"I have great confidence in the squad.

"Today it was Guti and Granero, but they will all have an important role."

Finally, the Chilean coach praised Ronaldo's performance, stating, "I don't believe that he needs to do any more."

"He is adapting to a new league. He scored a goal against Deportivo, and another today.

"People are over-analysing his performances."
