Morientes: Raul Is An Institution At Real Madrid

Former Real Madrid striker Fernando Morientes has stated in a recent interview that the Spanish club may never find another player of the quality of forward Raul.

The striker broke Los Blancos’ appearance record by featuring in the 3-0 victory against Tenerife on Saturday evening and Morientes, who has now joined Ligue 1 side Marseille, believes that his former club may never see another player of the class of the inspirational captain.
AS reports that the ex-Liverpool and Monaco striker said this of his former colleague, “Raul truly is the biggest Galactico. By what he means to the club and everything he stands for, he is an institution and a symbol.
“They should enjoy it, because another Raul is difficult to envisage.”
Furthermore, Morientes commented that the Spanish side has found the missing link of their line-up in the form of midfielder Xabi Alonso.
He said of his former team-mate, “I played alongside him and I know that he will give the club what they were missing, which is organisation and direction.”
Morientes faces Real Madrid with his new club this week, as Marseille travel to the Bernabeu in the Champions League.
