REAL ribery worries

Real Madrid are reported to be concerned about the fitness of French midfielder Franck Ribery, after an injury-laden spell with Bayern Munich.

Spanish publication AS have noted that the talented attacking midfielder has only featured in 12 of the Bavarian giants last 26 games, while also having to withdraw early from France's World Cup qualifier against the Faroe Islands with less than half an hour played.

Ribery initially had trouble with an Achilles tendon during the pre-season and since then has had a groin injury and tendon trouble in his left knee and Los Merengues officials are said to be concerned as, AS claim, a deal is already in place to take the French star to the Bernabeu next summer.

The player's agent Alain Migliaccio and Real president Florentino Perez are said to have already agreed terms on a five year deal starting next summer.

A fee with Munich is said to be the only part of the deal yet to be settled but Real feel the German outfit would lose a great deal of bargaining power given that Ribery will, by then, be in the last year of his current deal.
